Interests and Hobbies
Outside of work I have a number of interests and hobbies, including:
| Walking |
I have always enjoyed walking, but this has grown over recent
years. These pages describe
some of the walks that I have done (including the Ridgeway
National Trail) and am planning to do in the future.
Earlier this year I completed my Mountain Leader training at Plas Y Brenin, in Snowdonia. I now need to rack up the quality mountain days before I can complete the assessment. This should take me approximately three year. In the meantime I have also started to volunteer with the Duke of Edinburgh scheme in Oxfordshire. They have put me on the Basic Expedition Leader training, so now I need to rack up the experience for that as well. Only another four walks to complete by March.
Some of my blog posts about the DofE can be seen here. |
| Medieval Re-enactment |
I am a member of the Companions
of the Crow, a medieval combat and living history group. The
group is based near Witney, in Oxfordshire, and we travel around
the country attending shows that range from small school and village
fetes to large battle re-enactments with almost 2000 combatants
on the field. |
| Family History |
I am continually trying to trace my family origins. I have included
my family
tree and general information about certain family members in
this section. |
